Lok Manch Project

Facilitating community rights and entitlements in three panchayats of Kathikund block

LOK MANCH

With a view to facilitate the community in attaining their rights and entitlement the project Lok Manch is being implemented by Lahanti. The project uses the implementing strategies of cadre development termed as “Community Leaders” within the three intervention panchayats of Kathikund block of Dumka district. The project aims to coordinate with the fruits of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and other welfare schemes to benefit vulnerable and marginalised community members through involvement and leadership of community leaders. Further this project focuses to strengthen the community based platforms so as to make the service providers accountable and responsible in determining their roles.

The Lok Manch project provided orientation, capacity building and leadership skills to the 60 Community Leaders which were selected by the community members from 39 villages. They were thoroughly informed about the NFSA entitlements, the welfare schemes and the social security schemes in detail by which they can easily determine the Eligibility criteria, provide desired documentation facilities, its availability, etc. so that the needy people can avail these benefits and facilities.

60 active Community Leaders from 39 villages trained as social catalysts for rights and entitlements.

Family Reach
